ECM

All modern Cummins engines have an Electronic Control Module, or ECM, the primary function of which is to control the engine's performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions; to safeguard the engine from abuse; to troubleshoot mechanical problems; and to monitor the operation of the vehicle.

This module can only be accessed with specialist computer equipment, our engineers carry this equipment.

We can access this data analyse it and carry out a detailed analysis of the possible causes the engine has failed either component failure of user abuse. This can be downloaded and a full report issued.

The ECM can also be a cause of many problems; These can be mostly fixed by recalibrating the unit and re-entering the features and parameters for that particular vehicle. This can be done onsite or at our workshop.
